Ernesto Valverde insisted he was not thinking about resigning in the wake of Barcelona’s defeat to Levante on Saturday.
The Barcelona boss was asked if he might consider stepping down in the post-match press conference but gave a resounding “No” to that particular question.
Yet Valverde will come under pressure after another demoralising away defeat for the Spanish champions, their third in just 11 league games this season.
He spoke after the match about how his team collapsed in the second half, conceding three goals in the space of seven minutes to lose a game they had taken the lead in.
“Everything just collapsed. We didn’t start the second half well. We weren’t creating any danger and although they weren’t causing us too many problems, they put two goals past us in two minutes. The third really punished us.”

Barcelona now face Slavia Prague in the Champions League and Celta Vigo in La Liga before the next international break, and Valverde will be relieved that both games are at home at least.
