Lionel Messi has been talking about his free-kicks and explained how he has become such a dead-ball specialist.
The Barcelona captain has become lethal from set-pieces around the penalty area in recent seasons and says he has worked hard refining his technique.
“Recently I have been looking into it, and especially in free-kicks, to see if they [goalkeepers] move before, if they make a small movement, if not how they react, how they place the wall.
“It’s true that I am now studying this a bit more. Everything is work and training, I have been getting better with training.”

Messi also spoke about the amount of records he has broken during his career and reckons being La Liga’s top scorer is the one that means the most.
Messi scored the 50th free-kick of his career in October in Barcelona’s 5-1 win over Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou.
