Samuel Umtiti says he’s about to make his Barcelona comeback

Samuel Umtiti has given Barcelona a big boost ahead of some crucial fixtures by confirming he’s almost ready to make his comeback from injury.

The centre-back has been out with knee trouble since November but says he’s almost ready to play again.

“I’m good and it’s not long now until I can play,” he said. “It’s all going well. I am about to come back.

”Now there are lots of important games, in La Liga the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. I want to help the team.”

It’s still not quite clear when we might see Umtiti back in action. It’s been reported he’s determined to face former club Lyon in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Ernesto Valverde was a little coy about when Umtiti would feature in his press conference on Friday, but he’s not been included in the squad to face Real Valladolid on Saturday.
