Gerard Pique explains how Barcelona must improve after Real Valladolid win

Gerard Pique said Barcelona know they “didn’t play well” after beating Real Valladolid 1-0 at the Camp Nou on Saturday.

A Lionel Messi penalty was enough to secure the victory that sends the champions seven points clear at the top, but Pique knows they must do better.

“We have to improve because the sensations weren’t good,” he said.

“The opposition are also playing but I think it’s more to do with us being more fluid and playing better.

“We need to be quicker, have more possession and from there create chances. If not, we become a weaker team. Other teams know that and we know it.”

Barcelona will have to improve as they head into some really tricky fixtures. Next up is Lyon in the Champions League, followed by Sevilla in La Liga and two games against Real Madrid.
