Ernesto Valverde has confirmed that Lionel Messi suffered a “small thigh problem” during Saturday’s 2-2 La Liga draw with Valencia.
The Barcelona captain underwent treatment on the pitch in the second half after picking up the knock, although he did complete the 90 minutes.
It’s not known yet how serious the injury is with Messi set to undergo tests on Sunday.
Valverde: Messi has a small [thigh] problem but we still don't know [what it is exactly]. There will be tests tomorrow to find out.

Messi scored both goals for Barcelona as the hosts came from 2-0 down to rescue a point at the Camp Nou. The Argentine now has 21 league goals in 20 appearances.
Barcelona will be hoping he’s fit for Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Real Madrid, although let’s not forget he missed October’s Clasico with a broken arm and we did pretty OK without him.
