Antoine Griezmann names Frenkie de Jong as the best player he’s faced

Antoine Griezmann reckons new Barcelona signing Frenkie de Jong is the best player he’s faced.

The World Cup winner was asked to name the “best player you’ve faced on the field” and came up with the young Ajax star.

He said: “I would say De jong from Ajax. Because I tried to put pressure on him and never succeeded.”

Griezmann, who came close to a move to Barca last summer, also talked up Ousmane Dembele when asked to name who he thinks is the most skilful player.

“I would say that it’s between Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele. Yeah they’re the gold standard.”

Dembele also made it into Griezmann’s five-a-side team alongside N’Golo Kante, Diego Godin, Griezmann himself and David Beckham.

Not sure who’s going in goal out of those five though.
