Jordi Alba admitted that Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Real Sociedad on Saturday was a “bit of a struggle” for Ernesto Valverde side.

Clement Lenglet headed Barca in front just before half time, but Juanmi pulled one back for Sociedad after the break.

However, Barcelona responded quickly to the setback, as Alba struck from a Lionel Messi pass to secure the three points.

“Today was a bit of struggle because we were coming into the game on the back of a huge effort (against United) but we continued on the same path,” he said.

”We were better in the second half. I’m happy with how the season’s going and with my goal.”

The win means Barcelona move nine points clear at the top of the table and need just two more victories to retain their La Liga title.
