Ivan Rakitic says Barcelona will celebrate their La Liga triumph after lifting the trophy on Saturday but will be ready for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final against Liverpool.

The midfielder was happy to admit he had already hit the beers after helping Barcelona beat Levante 1-0 and may even wake up with a bit of a headache.

However, the Croatia international says his team will then turn their attentions to a couple of crucial games against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

“I’m not going to lie, I’ve already had a beer. We will enjoy tonight, we deserve it. Then we’ll rest.

“Tomorrow we have the day off so maybe we’ll wake up with a headache! Then we’ll think about the Champions League.”

Barcelona’s players deserve to celebrate after retaining their title with games to spare, but they’ll need to be at their best when Liverpool visit the Camp Nou on Wednesday.
