Sergi Roberto has become the latest Barcelona player to take to social media and offer his thoughts on the club’s Champions League exit by Liverpool.

The players have been pretty quiet since the defeat, but Jordi Alba and Arturo Vidal have posted messages and Roberto has now added his opinion.

He wrote: “These have been really difficult days for us and I want to say sorry to the fans for being knocked out of the Champions League in this way.

”We wanted to be in the final more than anyone. Now it’s the moment to be more united than ever. I am sure that my teammates and I will pick ourselves up with your help. Thanks to everyone for supporting us in such tough moments. We are going to give everything to win the title we have left. Forca Barca now and always!”

Roberto started at right-back in both games against Liverpool and found it really tough going up against Sadio Mane, and it was a surprise that Ernesto Valverde did not start with Nelson Semedo instead.
