Ernesto Valverde says he has not considering quitting his job as Barcelona boss in the wake of the club’s disastrous Champions League defeat at Liverpool.

The Barcelona boss was asked after Sunday’s 2-0 win over Getafe if he had thought about resigning and said simply “Well, no.”

There were a few whistles at the Camp Nou on Sunday as Barcelona tried to bounce back from the disappointment of their Champions League exit, and Valverde was not too surprised.

“I expected that reaction. At first they whistled us a little, but, of course they would,” he said.

“ When we’ve have a defeat like we’ve had, they have to let you know it. We knew they we would be with us if we showed up. We are grateful and happy (for their support).”

There was very much a subdued air at the Camp Nou with just 57,088 in the stadium to watch the team play their final home game of the season.

While Barcelona did manage to pick up all three points, it seems the win has done little to lift spirits around the club.
