Junior Firpo has been talking about his plans to “make life difficult” for Jordi Alba after sealing a switch to Barcelona this summer.

The left-back has been brought in as competition for the 30-year-old and is hoping he can put pressure on the Spain international for a place in the starting XI.

“Alba is a very good reference to me and he offers the best competition I can have, he is the best left-back in the world, having the best in front of you will help improve me a lot

“I want to soak up everything from all the great players here and make it difficult for Alba.”

Firpo also admitted he was nutmegged three times during his first training session with his new club and said it would be “very nice” to be involved in Sunday’s game against his former club Real Betis.
