Rafinha has added to Barcelona’s problems in attack ahead of Sunday’s clash against Real Betis by missing training on Friday.

The Brazilian was in contention to start the game due to injuries to Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele but the club confirmed he missed the session due to gastroenteritis.

It is unclear if he will be fit enough to make the squad for Sunday’s game, while it’s still not certain if Lionel Messi will make his return from injury against Betis.

Barcelona will train for a final time on Saturday evening before manager Ernesto Valverde picks his squad for the match.

Valverde did call up youngsters Ansu Fati, Carles Pérez and Abel Ruiz for Friday’s session, and the trio will be hoping to force their way into the matchday squad.
