Luis Suarez is closing in on a return from injury and is expected to be fit in time for Barcelona’s next La Liga game against Valencia.

The Uruguay international has been sidelined since picking up a calf problem in the season opener against Athletic Bilbao and has missed the club’s last two matches.

However, AS report that he is expected to be back in training with the club next week and should be available for the visit of Valencia to the Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi could also make his return from injury in the same game. The club have been unwilling to risk the captain but could give him minutes “with a view to regaining match fitness.”

The match against Valencia is followed by a trip to Germany to take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, and Barcelona will want their stars available for that game.
