Riqui Puig has deservedly attracted plenty of praise for his performance against Granada on Sunday night and a new stat has emerged to show just how effective he was.

The 20-year-old came off the bench with 71 minutes on the clock but then managed to attempt and complete more passes than any Granada player in his brief time on the pitch.

Puig came on with the score still at 0-0 and his pressing helped break the deadlock, as he crucially won the ball back in the build-up to Lionel Messi’s goal.

The 20-year-old was quick to thank Quique Setien after the match for giving him the chance to play and can expect more opportunities under the new manager.
