Barcelona still don’t know if Jordi Alba will return from injury in time for Saturday’s clash with Real Madrid but it’s not looking good for the left-back.
The defender hobbled out of the 1-1 draw with Sevilla due to a hamstring problem and hasn’t featured for Barcelona since.
Alba was one of the few players at the Ciutat Esportiva on Wednesday as he bids to be fit in time and is doing all he can to be ready for the match, according to AS.
The 31-year-old is going to see how he feels in training on Thursday, but Barcelona are said to be pessimistic about his chances.
It even seems that Barca are more interested in Alba being fit for the trip to Juventus next week instead, particularly now they will be without Gerard Pique due to suspension.
Sergino Dest therefore looks likely to continue at left-back against Real Madrid, although Junior Firpo is also an option, but Alba could get some game time off the bench.
