Barcelona announced on Sunday that Philippe Coutinho is out for the time being with a hamstring injury.

There’s no timescale on the injury as yet but it seems certain he will miss at least Wednesday’s Champions League trip to Juventus.

Here’s the official statement:

Tests on Sunday morning have revealed that Philippe Coutinho has a left biceps femoris (hamstring) injury. Exactly how long that means he will be out of action depends on how the injury evolves

Coutinho’s injury will force manager Ronald Koeman into some changes given the Brazilian has been a regular starter in the team so far this season.

It will be interesting to see who comes in for Coutinho and how Koeman shuffles his team to deal with the Brazilian’s absence.

Pedri, Antoine Griezmann, Francisco Trincao and Ousmane Dembele are all pushing for a place in the attack, while Riqui Puig will be hoping Coutinho’s injury could give him a chance of some minutes.
