Jordi Alba suspended for Barcelona against Eibar

Barcelona will be missing Jordi Alba next week against Eibar. The left-back was booked for the fifth time this year against Valladoid. That means he’s going to miss out on the match. Guess someone was naughty this year.

The booking was for a tackle with Hervias and left his legs up high, eventually making their way into contact with Hervias’ head. This isn’t great for a few reasons. First off, Alba had been looking a bit better in recent matches. Still not vintage Alba, but certainly better then his early season form.

Depth is also an issue, Barca will be rely heavily on Junior Firpo in the Eibar match given Alba’s absence.

Let’s just hope that Alba’s cleans up the tackles once he comes back.
