New Barcelona signing Martin Braithwaite has been talking about captain Lionel Messi and has made his admiration for the Argentinian clear.
Braithwaite laid on a goal for Messi in the weekend’s big win over Eibar and joked afterwards he wouldn’t wash his shirt after receiving a hug from his team-mate.
The Denmark international has now given an interview to the club’s official website where he offered more insight into life as Messi’s team-mate.
“Nobody can do things he does. If football were a religion, Messi might be God,” he said.
”He controls the match. He is an extraordinary player.”

Braithwaite was ineligible for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Napoli but will be hoping for more game time at the weekend against Real Madrid.
