Lionel Messi has offered his thoughts on the return of La Liga and thinks it will be like “starting from scratch.”

Barcelona’s last fixture was a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad on March 7, but they are being tipped to return to action on June 14th away at Real Mallorca.

Messi says it will feel “different” when they get back out on the pitch but also feels his team will be stronger with Luis Suarez set to return from injury.

“When we start playing again, it will be like starting from scratch. We’ll have some time to get ready before the league starts up, and we’ll also get back key players on our team who were injured. Technically it will still be the same season, but I think every team and player will feel it’s different.”

The Barcelona captain also spoke about how “eager” he was to play competitively again and how he thinks playing behind closed doors will be “very strange.”
