Frenkie de Jong is being tipped to make a swift return from injury after being ruled out of Friday’s clash with Sevilla due to a calf strain.

Indeed the Netherlands international should be back in contention to feature in Tuesday’s La Liga clash against Athletic Bilbao, according to ESPN’s Moises Llorens.

Quique Setien played down De Jong’s injury in his press conference on Thursday, saying he didn’t want to risk him against Sevilla and make the injury worse.

The 23-year-old has been a virtual ever-present for Barca this season, featuring in all but two of their La Liga games in 2019-20.

Arthur or Ivan Rakitic are being tipped to replace De Jong against Sevilla in midfield alongside Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal.
