Gerard Pique sounded pretty pessimistic after Barcelona’s 0-0 draw with Sevilla in La Liga on Friday night.

Quique Setien’s side picked up a point to move three points clear at the top of the table but will lose first place if Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Pique thought his team played pretty well but admitted they had not been good enough in front of goal.

“They are third in the table for a reason. It was a very competitive game. We now don’t depend on ourselves, the feelings were good out there. We had chances but weren’t able to take them.

“From what I’ve seen it’s going to be difficult for Real Madrid to lose points after seeing the two matchdays we’ve had since we came back but we’re going to try.”

The fixtures keep on coming thick and fast for Barcelona. They host Athletic on Tuesday, travel to Celta next Saturday and then take on Atletico Madrid.
