Iago Aspas: I knew the Barcelona wall would jump

The striker had been watching videos

Iago Aspas has been talking about his free-kick which salvaged a point for Celta Vigo against Barcelona on Saturday.

The hosts were awarded a free-kick for a foul by Gerard Pique on Rafinha, although it looked a very harsh decision from the referee.

Aspas then curled the set-pice past Barcelona’s wall to make it 2-2 in the 88th minute at Balaidos.

“I knew where I was going to put it,” he said.

“We’d watched various videos with the goalkeeping coaches. I knew that they’d jump and I watched [the ball] go under them.”

The result means Barca drop points at Celta yet again and have not won in Vigo since 2015.
