It’s no secret that Barcelona have seen better days. If you haven’t been paying attention to the state of the club, things have been a bit rocky the last couple of years and things have reached an even rockier point this season.
Turns out, us fans aren’t the only ones watching in agony as Barca trend downwards and flounder. Samuel Eto’o talked this week about how he feels when he’s watching his former club play.
“Recently, Barcelona have made me suffer,” he said.
“These are tough times for those of us who love the club.
“It would be hard to accept group stage elimination in the Champions League. I still hope they can go through.”
Eto’o is still looking forward to the upcoming Clasico and thinks a win for Barca could go a long way to reviving their season.
“Beating Real Madrid could be worth six points,” he added.
“Those of us who have played that fixture know it’s the most beautiful game in the world. I have played in Champions League finals, but I can say that the Clasico is unique. There’s nothing else like it.”
