Marc Cucurella has warned his Getafe team-mates they can’t afford any mistakes if they are to get a result against his former club Barcelona on Thursday in La Liga.

Barca head into the match on a high after winning the Copa del Rey and face a Getafe side on a run of six games without a win.

Getafe did hold Real Madrid to a 0-0 draw last time out, and Cucurella says his team must be perfect at the Camp Nou if they are to take the three points.

“They are favorites because they are fighting for La Liga, but if we don’t make any mistakes we can beat them,” he said. “We will have to make a perfect performance and take advantage of the opportunities we have. We will go out with great desire and ambition.”

Jose Bordalas’s side are only four points off the relegation zone and Cucurella admits they need to offer more of an attacking threat.

“We are having a hard time creating danger and scoring goals. I personally have to improve a lot of things. Especially the offensive side and improve the statistics of goal assists. This year I have scored a few more goals, but I am young, I have to keep working to do my best and do my bit.”

Cucurella also admitted he is “very comfortable at Getafe” after making his move from Barcelona permanent over the summer. The youngster added he was grateful to the club for offering him regular football and the chance to play in Europe.
