Antoine Griezmann offered his thoughts on Barcelona’s 2020-21 La Liga season after hitting the winner in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Eibar.
The Frenchman admitted the players are still feeling the pain of seeing the title slip away and admits they did not deliver in crunch games this season.
Defeats to Granada and Real Madrid and draws with Levante and Atletico saw Barca’s title hopes fade, and Griezmann says the team must improve.
“We are still hurt, we failed in important games. Now we have to rest and see what things we can improve on to be a team that can win it all next year,” he said.
“Our image at the beginning of the season was not good. We had an almost perfect 2021. But we failed in the big games. We have to congratulate Atlético. I am very happy for them, for Cholo and Koke.”

A big summer shake-up at Barcelona seems to be on the cards under president Joan Laporta and Griezmann is reportedly a player who is not thought of as ‘untouchable.’
Saturday’s goal was Griezmann’s 13th in La Liga and his 20th of the season in all competitions.
