Ronald Koeman faced the press on Saturday and actually took questions this time around ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Levante at the Camp Nou.

The Dutchman spoke about the speculation regarding his future, offered an update on Ansu Fati and his thoughts on 17-year-old midfielder Gavi.

Here are the best bits:

Koeman on Ansu Fati’s return

It is very important. First for the player, we have a plan and we follow a plan to fully recover Ansu. He will have a process to have minutes. He is called up and he will play a maximum of 15 minutes. The most important thing is to get the player back well, not to rush.

Koeman on rumors

I can’t say much about this because I haven’t been read the press for a long time. I know the rumors are out there, but all we have to do is win games. There are rumors, names. ... It’s your job. I’m not going to waste energy on things I can’t control.

Koeman on hectic fixture list

Of course I agree with Pique. It seems perfect that the players complain about this. We have 48 hours after the game against Cádiz. Players have to defend themselves.

Koeman on touchline ban

I would like to be there, especially in difficult moments. We need three points and it would give us peace of mind. I don’t want to complain about this issue because we won’t gain anything. I have to accept it and try not to repeat it, but I have to learn to stay calm and think of the team. I am human too.

Koeman on Laporta

The president is the most important man in the club, he can speak and give his opinion. I have to be involved in working and wining games, the rest does not interest me.

Koeman on Gavi

We have already said that there are very good young players, with a great future. Gavi may play tomorrow because we only have 17 outfield players available. He’s a young player who has shown in a very short time he has a place in this team.

Koeman on lack of goals

Memphis feels responsible for not scoring to win the game, but he does not have to be obsessed. Against Cádiz we created 4- 5 very clear chances. We have lost players who had effectiveness.

Koeman on Ansu again

There is a long way to go for the player to be as he was. Ansu cannot recover in two games or two weeks, we have to be attentive and help the player. The most important thing is the player. It depends on his condition. He will give us a lot of quality, but little by little.
