Barcelona look like they may have to cope without Gerard Pique for their next game away at Real Betis on Saturday in La Liga.

Pique came off injured early in the win over Real Mallorca on Sunday and has undergone tests which have shown his adductor injury has worsened, according to Diario AS.

The word is that Pique, who has been struggling with this issue for some time, needs to rest which points to him missing the trip to the Benito Villamarín.

Barcelona then have only three games left to play in La Liga, against Celta, Getafe, and Villarreal, and there’s no guarantee Pique will be back for any of them.

The veteran’s absence will be a blow as he has been in fine form this season and means Xavi will have to tinker with his backline.

The main question will be who partners Ronald Araujo in central defense. Eric Garcia looks the most likely option, although Clement Lenglet has seen some game time recently.
