Barcelona have confirmed that Ferran Torres will wear the No. 11 at the Camp Nou next season after switching numbers ahead of the new campaign.

La Liga had already let slip the fact that Torres would take the 11 in 2022-23 but Barca have now confirmed via their Twitter account.

We haven’t been able to see Ferran in pre-season due to a foot injury but he has been back training with the team ahead of the new campaign.

The former Manchester City man was a regular fixture in the starting XI after joining the club in January but faces a real battle for minutes in the new campaign.

Barca have spent big on Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, while Ousmane Dembele has signed a new contract and shone in pre-season.

All three players started in Barca’s final friendly against Pumas and impressed in a sparkling 6-0 win for the hosts at the Camp Nou.

We’ll get to see Xavi’s first starting XI of the season on Saturday against Rayo, but it seems likely the coach will continue with that attacking trio for the opening game of the campaign.
