Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has sent a message to supporters after the club’s shock Champions League exit at the hands of Roma.
The Germany international admitted his side “did not deliver” against the Serie A team but says the season is not over and we all need to remain positive.
Last night we did not play at the level we have been this season. We wanted to win this match and we didn’t deliver. Congratulations to Roma for their comeback. Lets remain calm, positive and focused on what’s coming. Our season is definitely not over, we have two further important objectives this season. We want to win back the La Liga title and lift our fourth Copa. Força Barça!
Barcelona could of course still the end season with a league and cup double, but they’re going to really need to improve having been poor since the international break.
There’s no doubting winning La Liga and the Copa del Rey would be a fantastic achievement but the nature of their Champions League defeat will still taint this campaign.
