It’s no secret that Arturo Vidal is no fan of Real Madrid and he’s had another little pop at Los Blancos when talking about their recent successes in the Champions League.

The Chilean was asked about VAR, which is making its debut in La Liga this season, and reckons if it had been used in Europe it could have made a big difference.

“With VAR, Bayern would have two more Champions League titles and Madrid two less,” he said.

“I have come to win everything, arriving at a new team, a new competition, and LaLiga excites me a lot. My favourite title is the Champions League.”

Vidal is referring to last season when Bayern were knocked out by Real Madrid in the semi-finals. The Bundesliga champions felt hard done by that they weren’t given a couple of penalties during the game.

Bayern were also knocked out by Madrid in the quarter-finals in 2017. Vidal was famously sent off as Los Blancos progressed 6-3 on aggregate after extra-time.
