Nelson Semedo expects a Barcelona reaction against Slavia Prague

Nelson Semedo says he expects Barcelona to produce a reaction to their defeat to Levante when they take on Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Ernesto Valverde’s side slumped to a shock La Liga defeat on Saturday, the third time they have been beaten in the league already in 2019-20.

Semedo says the team are well aware they need to improve but can take confidence from the results in Europe this season.

“We have to improve a lot, a lot ... but don’t forget that in the CL we have one draw and two wins and in general we had seven games we won in row, but of course we have to improve.

“We have to take advantage of the Slavia game to correct errors and offer a response. It’s an important game tomorrow. If we win big, we step forward in the Champions League and I think we’re going to see a reaction.”

The Portugal international also spoke about playing at left-back, as he has on numerous times this season, and said he often finds more space on the opposite flank. However, he should drop back to his usual position on Tuesday with Jordi Alba expected to return.
