Barcelona will be without Lionel Messi for Tuesday’s final Champions League group game against Inter Milan at the San Siro.

The GOAT has been left out of the 20-man squad for the trip to Italy with Barca already assured of top spot in the group heading into the game.

Ernesto Valverde has therefore taken the decision to give Messi the night off along with Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto who are also left out.

Messi missed the start of the season through injury but has returned to action in some style, bagging 14 goals and eight assists in all competitions for the champions.

The absence of the captain means Ernesto Valverde will have to make changes in attack for the clash with Antonio Conte’s side.

Ansu Fati is back from injury and included in the squad along with Carles Perez, Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez.

Inter will go through to the knockout stages if they beat Barcelona or if they finish level on points with Dortmund as they have a superior head-to-head record.
