Referee Szymon Marciniak has been confirmed as the match official for Barcelona’s Champions League last-16 second leg against Lyon on Wednesday.
The name may be familiar as Marciniak has already overseen some key games for Barcelona in this competition, and not in a good way.
The Pole was the man in the middle for Barca’s 4-0 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, he also reffed their 3-0 loss to Juventus in the next round.

This will be the second time this season Marciniak has taken charge of a Barcelona game in European competition.
He was also in charge for the 1-1 group stage draw against Inter Milan back in November.

Barcelona will be hoping the appointment of Marciniak is not a bad omen as they aim to secure a quarter-final spot.
