Philippe Coutinho has taken to social media to defend his goal celebration against Manchester United.

The Brazilian scored a cracker against the Red Devils and celebrated by putting his fingers in his ears, a gesture that was criticised by former Barcelona star Rivaldo.

However, Coutinho has posted a message on Instagram stories offering his view.

“We should never listen to people who will demotivate us, because their speeches only gonna deviate us from the real focus we should take. Never in my life I disrespected anyone, inside or out of football.”

Coutinho put in one of his best performances of the season against Manchester United, capping his display with a great goal, and Barcelona will be hoping he can maintain that form between now and the end of the season.
