Liverpool have confirmed they will be without Mohamed Salah for Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona on Tuesday.

The Egypt international has been ruled out of the game after sustaining a head injury during Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Newcastle United, Roberto Firmino will also miss out too.

The injuries will be a blow to Jurgen Klopp’s side, and he spoke about the duo’s absences in his pre-match press conference.

“Two of the world’s best strikers are not available and we have to score four goals against Barcelona. That doesn’t make life easy, but we will try. If we can’t do it, let’s fail in the most beautiful way.”

Barcelona lead Liverpool 3-0 after the first leg at the Camp Nou, and the winner will go on to face Ajax or Tottenham in the final.
