Ronald Koeman could turn to Barcelona B’s Oscar Mingueza to help out during the club’s current injury crisis in defence.

Barcelona lost Sergi Roberto and Gerard Pique to injury against Atletico. Roberto’s out for two months, while Pique also looks set for a long lay-off.

Koeman’s already without Ronald Araujo and Samuel Umtiti due to injury which means Mingueza could even make his debut against Dynamo Kiev, according to Sport.

The 21-year-old was included in Barca’s original Champions League squad for 2020-21, and Koeman has already been to see him in action for Barca B earlier this season.

Koeman likes the fact Mingueza can play anywhere along the backline which could also boost his chances of breaking into the first-team squad in the future.

The Barca coach will name his squad for the match later today before the team fly out to Ukraine, and we should hear more about his defensive plans in his pre-match presser.
