Ronald Koeman has opted to give Lionel Messi, Philippe Coutinho and Marc-Andre ter Stegen a rest ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash at Ferencvaros.

The trio did not join in the final training session before the match on Tuesday after being given the day off and are not expected to travel for the match, according to Gerard Romero.

Koeman looks certain to make plenty of rotations to his team for the game because Barca have already booked their place in the knockout stages.

There was also some good news from the training round. Both Ronald Araujo and Clement Lenglet took part in the session, suggesting the duo are not too far away from a return.

Barcelona B youngsters Konrad de la Fuente, Arnau Tenas and Oscar Mingueza were also part of the group and look set to be included in the travelling squad.

Ferencvaros have one point from their four group games so far and were beaten 5-1 at the Camp Nou in the reverse fixture between the two teams.
