Ousmane Dembele expected to miss Barcelona’s Champions League tie with Napoli

Ousmane Dembele is not expected to be fit in time for the second leg of Barcelona’s Champions League last-16 tie with Napoli.

There had been a bit of optimism Dembele could be back in time for the clash which has been rescheduled for August 7 or 8.

However, his recovery from injury is going more slowly than expected and he’s been all but ruled out already, according to AS.

The report reckons he’s about two or three weeks behind schedule, and it’s unlikely he would feature if Barcelona were to progress to the quarter-finals either.

UEFA confirmed last month that the competition will be completed as a “final eight” tournament in Portugal in August. The final is scheduled for August 23.
