Gennaro Gattuso spoke to the press ahead of Napoli’s Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Barcelona, and the Italian manager knows just how big the challenge is.

Barça haven’t lost an European match at Camp Nou in seven years, and despite not having their best season in La Liga the Blaugrana are still favorites to advance, and Gattuso spoke highly of Barça’s quality as well as players like Riqui Puig and other young talents at the club.

Gattuso also updated the status of captain Lorenzo Insigne, who was named in the squad but remains a major injury doubt.

“We will have to climb Everest. We will have to put in a great performance tactically and technically. We will give everything but that might not be enough against a great team. Since the first leg we have improved a lot but at Camp Nou it will be tough to have possession.

“Barça are a team with great players and it’s spectacular to watch their young players. [Riqui Puig] is a great talent. It’s a credit to La Masia who have been working hard for years and it’s no coincidence that players like this come through.

“[On Insigne] If he is not at 100% then he won’t play a minute.”
