It isn’t quite the Group of Death, but Barcelona will not have an easy road to the Champions League knockout stages. After the draw took place in Istanbul on Friday, the Blaugrana have been drawn into Group E and will face Bayern Munich, Benfica and Dynamo Kiev beginning next month.

Barça were in Pot 2 and were almost guaranteed a brutal opponent from Pot 1, and they get the German champions and 2020 European Cup winners. Bayern beat Barça 8-2 in the quarterfinals that season, so it will be fun reliving that again.
The other two opponents are easier on paper but will be very tough in reality: Benfica have a good squad and are always strong at home, and playing in Kiev is never easy no matter how good the Dynamo team is — or isn’t.
The full draw is below, and there are some truly tasty games to look forward to in what promises to be a great group stage.
Group A: Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig, Club Brugge
Group C: Sporting Lisbon, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Besiktas
Group E: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Benfica, Dynamo Kiev
Group F: Villarreal, Manchester United, Atalanta, Young Boys
Group G: LOSC Lille, Sevilla, Salzburg, Wolfsburg
Group H: Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit, Malmo
