Barca to swap Rakitic for Martial?
Today’s rumors start with Diario Gol who reckon that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho fancies swapping Anthony Martial for Ivan Rakitic.
Mourinho is a big fan of Rakitic, likes his experience, and is willing to offer Martial in return.
The report cites the presence of Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and, interestingly Jesse Lingard, as problems for Martial at Old Trafford who could be tempted by Barca.
Liverpool will refuse to talk to Barca over Coutinho
Yesterday Oscar Grau told us Barca were “ready” to sign Philippe Coutinho in January and today the news is that Liverpool will again refuse to discuss a deal.
According to The Independent, Liverpool will not allow any of their key players, and particularly Coutinho to depart in January.
The Brazilian may have handed in a transfer request over the summer, but is now back in the team and Liverpool are ready to stand firm again.
Messi set for £80m signing bonus?
As we all know, Lionel Messi is still yet to sign his new contract but when he does he could land a massive £80 million signing bonus.
According to Catalan newspaper L'Ara (via the Daily Mail), Messi is set for an absolutely massive bonus if he decides to stay on.
So, how are Barca going to pay for it? Well, by selling naming rights to Camp Nou with Messi potentially set to finally put pen to paper during the next international break.
Abel Ruiz not listening to offers
One of Barca’s most talented youngsters, Abel Ruiz, has attracted interest from Juventus, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City, according to Mundo Deportivo.
However, the teenager has decided not to listen to offers and wants to continue at the club.
Ruiz’s current contract runs until 2019 and Barca would like to extend his deal and up his release clause, to hopefully ward off potential suitors.
Did Barca scout Andre Silva?
It has not gone unnoticed in the papers that Robert Fernandez went to watch Portugal’s win over Andorra last week.
Apparently Fernandez was scouting Danilo or Gelson Martins but now it’s being said he was actually watching Andre Silva, according to Mundo Deportivo (via Football Espana).
The striker only joined AC Milan from Porto over the summer and is yet to open his Serie A account, but does have a superb record at international level with 11 goals in 17 games.
