Barcelona planning £97m swoop for Coutinho in January - report

Not sure how fresh this one is

Barcelona are apparently ready to dive back in for Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho in January. The ‘report’ comes from Mundo Deportivo and the offer Barcelona are considering is believed to be in the range of “80 million euros plus another 30 million in variables”.

Despite how “fair” Barcelona believe the price to be, it’s hard to see Coutinho ever being allowed to leave Liverpool for anything short of 170-200 million. The bottom line is that Liverpool overvalue Coutinho, and Barcelona are only willing to slightly overpay for him.

Until Coutinho pitches such a fit over not being able to move, this will likely remain only a rumor for some time.

Coutinho has shown flashes of brilliance in his time back at Liverpool so far this year. Delivering those curling crosses and beautiful shots outside the box, only tantalizing the Barcelona board all the more.
