Andres Iniesta has been discussing Lionel Messi’s contract status at Barcelona after signing a “lifetime” contract at the club.
The club have confirmed the midfielder will stay at Camp Nou until he retires and attention is now likely to switch back to Messi.
Although Josep Mari Bartomeu has claimed Messi is already playing under his new contract, it is yet to be made official and Iniesta wants it to happen as soon as possible.
"In Leo's situation I think that dialogue is something that is not lacking.
"The club wants Leo to be here, he wants to be here. I hope that his story [at Barca] never ends.
"He is unique, we can't live without him and I think the club thinks the same way. It's just a question of time, but I hope he renews as soon as possible."
