Mesut Ozil has not agreed a deal to join Barcelona, according to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Speculation surrounding the Germany international has been ramped up this week with reports in Spain claiming he was on his way to Camp Nou.

However, Wenger has given an update after being asked directly if Ozil had agreed terms with Barca.

“No,” he replied.

"What kind of control can I have over that [speculation]?

“All these people have agents who can talk to anybody. That doesn't disturb people, that happens all through their career."

Ozil is out of contract next summer and therefore free to talk to foreign clubs in January.

Unless he extends with Arsenal he will be able to walk away from the club as a free agent next year, making him a pretty attactive proposition.
