Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez has confirmed the club are hoping to bring Gerard Deulofeu back to Camp Nou this summer,
The club have an option, which runs until the end of June, to buy back the winger for €12 million and now look set to exercise it.
Deulofeu has enjoyed a strong season on loan at AC Milan which has not got unnoticed at Camp Nou with Fernandez admitting he was already in their plans for next season.
"Deulofeu is absolutely an option for the future," he told TV3 after Barcelona’s win over Real Sociedad.
"The club are firmly considering the option to bring him back to play for the first team next season."
Everton boss Roberto Martinez also revealed back in 2015 that should Barcelona re-sign Deulofeu they will not be able to sell him immediately and will have to keep him for a season before selling him on again.
“If they take him back they can’t sell him for a season, so he has to stay in the first-team squad for a season,” he said.
“At the end of that if they decide to sell him we have got first rights of getting him back or we have got a big percentage of that deal.”
