Barcelona completed the signing of Brazilian central defender Marlon last week, and they're prepared to sign one of Marlon's former teammates on a very similar deal.
The Catalan giants are interested in signing Fluminense midfielder Wendel Silva on a two-year loan to Barça B with a €10 million option to sign him permanently after the first season, a source with knowledge of the situation told Barca Blaugranes.
Wendel is a very good all-around midfielder with great defensive skills and passing ability. He usually plays on the left side of a flat midfield three, with license to roam forward and get into the box and score goals, which he did on Sunday's derby against Flamengo in the Brazilian league:
Wendel acertou a trave e no rebote fez o gol! 11,5 pontos no lance!

This deal is still on the early phases, but Barça are very interested in the player and hope that Wendel turns out to be the next Marlon: a young promising Fluminense player that the big clubs ignored and comes to Barça B to become a first team player with great potential.
Expect more developments of this soon.
