Robert Fernandez has claimed Barcelona will make some big-name signings this summer, as speculation over which players may arrive goes into overdrive.

Barca are being heavily linked with a huge bid for Marco Verrati while moves for Hector Bellerin and Ousmane Dembele are also being regularly discussed.

Fernandez says the club is working hard at the moment, and seems confident key players will be brought in this summer.

"We have a lot of information and there's a lot of work going on behind the scenes," he told the club's official magazine.

"It goes without saying that we'll bolster the squad in the positions we need and that they'll be big-name signings."

Fernandez also appeared to hint that players such as Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer would remain at the club, despite speculation claiming they could depart.

"The biggest difficulty we face is our own grandeur," Fernandez said. "A lot of players don't want to come here because they aren't sure they'll get much playing time.

"But we are very happy with the players that we signed last summer because we think that this year they will make big steps forward in their careers."
