Gerard Deulofeu is in for an interesting summer and while he could still end up back at Barcelona it’s just as possible he could be at Everton next season or AC Milan or who knows - maybe somewhere new entirely?

The 23-year-old is currently on international duty with Spain having been called up for Julen Lopetegui for the friendly with Colombia and the World Cup qualifier against Macedonia.

Deulofeu has also been named in the Under-21 squad for this summer’s European Championship in Poland and he admits that his current commitments may mean decisions over his future have to wait.

"First, I want to focus on the national team and the under-21 and then I have to choose the best option," he told Mundo Deportivo.

"It will be a busy summer in my case but I'm calm and everything will work out for sure.

"I'm going through a good football and personal moment. Let me enjoy it, my future will be decided."

Robert Fernandez has already revealed Barca are considering bringing back the winger with the club having a buy-back clause of €12 million.

Should they exercise that clause Barcelona will be unable to sell Deulofeu for another season at least which suggests that if he does return it will be with a view to playing regularly.

Doubts have been raised over Deulofeu’s mentality and while it will not cost much to sign him again after a rather disappointing season Barca really need to get their summer transfer policy spot on this time around.
