Barca to pay Asensio’s release clause?
We start today’s rumor round-up with news that Barcelona have pondered the question: What if we just pay Marco Asensio’s release clause?
Diario Gol report that with Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele set to cost big bucks, the Blaugrana are wondering if maybe they should just spend €80m on Asensio instead.
Di Maria still an option for Barca
But if not Asensio, then what about Angel Di Maria? AS report the Paris Saint-Germain winger remains an option for Barcelona this summer.
The French club may well have to sell players before the close of the window, following the arrival of Neymar, and Di Maria has previously had issues with coach Unai Emery.
Or, Barca could turn to Eriksen
Despite Coutinho’s willingness to move to Barca, if Liverpool cannot be convinced to sell, then the Blaugrana could turn to Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.
The Independent report the club have already begun moves to sign the Dane, as they think he will be well-suited to the club, but realise negotiating with Daniel Levy will be tough going.
Madrid to offer players for Dembele
And what of Ousmane Dembele? Well, according to AS, Real Madrid are hot on his heels as well and are preparing to offer players plus cash for the French international.
While Barca will return with an €140m bid, Madrid are willing to offer Dortmund players in exchange for Dembele, which could just prove more tempting.
