Barcelona general manager Pep Segura has claimed the club are “close” to signing both Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele and that he expects to get both deals done.
Segura was speaking after Barcelona’s defeat to Real Madrid in the Supercopa de Espana final and seemed confident the club will land their top targets.
“We are close to Coutinho and Dembele.
“We are discussing their deals but do not know when it will be done.
“Ye, we expect it [the pair to sign].
“We know we have to strengthen this team and that is what we are doing. We have to help the team.”

Barca have had offers rejected for both players but have so far been rebuffed in their attempts to land them with Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund standing firm.
Although Coutinho has handed in a transfer request, which has reportedly been rejected, Liverpool continue to insist he is not for sale.
Dortmund, meanwhile, have hinted Barca have until next weekend to seal a deal for Dembele, and will refuse to negotiate after that time.
Wednesday’s defeat to Madrid, was yet another stark reminder that signings are needed.
Hopefully Segura is right and can bring us good news soon, because Barca simply have to get these two over the line, otherwise it promises to be a very long season indeed.
